Roadway Maintenance

Benton County Secondary Roads Department employees are tasked with building and maintaining the Secondary Roads System and its right-of-way (ROW).  Throughout the year our workers complete numerous and diverse projects including reshaping ROW, building driveways, patching hard-surfaced roads, building bridges and spreading rock on our 925 miles of gravel roads.

Benton County is divided into 13 maintenance zones with each zone having a maintainer operator.  These county employees are responsible for the blading and maintenance of the roads within each zone.  Gravel roads are maintained through rock application by county personnel which is then distributed on the road via the areas maintainer operator.

A map of Benton County's maintenance areas can be found here.
