Know all Laws & Responsibilities! 

All Terrain Vehicles 

Renew your ATV before your expiration date of December 31st of each year to avoid a $5.00 penalty.  Renewals can be made as early as Sept. 1st of each year for the next renewal period.  An operator of an ATV shall carry the registration certificate either in the vehicle or on the person of the operator when the ATV is in use.  Also, proof of financial liability insurance card shall be carried on machine.  The decal shall be affixed to the rear of the ATV so that the decal is clearly visible.

Registration renewals can be purchased in the Recorder's office by cash, check or debit/credit card.

TIPS:  When purchasing an ATV -you need to have the signed title and sale amount indicated on reverse side of title.  January 1, 2000 all ATV's were titled.

Off Highway Vehicles

Renew your ORV before your expiration date of December 31st of each year to avoid a $5.00 penalty.  Renewals can be made as early as Sept. 1st of each year for the next renewal period.  An operator of an ORV shall carry the registration certificate either in the vehicle or on the person of the operator when the ORV is in use.  Also, proof of financial liability insurance card shall be carried on machine.  The decal shall be affixed to the rear of the ORV so that the decal is clearly visible.  On Off-road motorcyles (ORM) the decal shall be affixed to the steering yoke in such a manner that the decal does not cover up the vehicle identification number and is clearly visible.

Snowmobiles 

Renew your snowmobile before your expiration date of December 31st of each year to avoid the $5.00 penalty.  Renewals can be made as early as Sept. 1st of each year for the next renewal period.  An operator of a snowmobile shall carry the registration certificate either in vehicle or on the person of the operator when the snowmobile is in use.  Also, proof of financial liability insurance card shall be carried on machine.  The decal shall be affixed to the windshield of the snowmobile so that the decal is clearly visible.  If the snowmobile doesn't have a windshield, then the decal shall be affixed to the area of the hood near the headlight so that the decal is clearly visible.  Along with the decal - a DNR User permit is required to be purchased and displayed on the windshield or hood so that the user permit is clearly visible.

Registration renewals & user permits can be purchased in the Recorder's office by cash, check or debit/credit card.

Antique Snowmobiles:  A snowmobile manufactured prior to 1984 may be registered for a one-time fee.  Registration as an antique snowmobile exempts the owner from annual registration requirements for the machine.  If the antique snowmobile is operated on public land, public ice or a designated snowmobile trail, the requirement to display the IDNR User Permit applies.

Hunting & Fishing 

Purchase your hunting, habitat, fishing, deer, turkey, migratory bird, furharvester licenses here in the Recorder's Office.

Licenses can be purchased in the Recorder's office by cash, check or debit/credit card.

Boats         

2016 is the year to renew your boat for a 3 year time period-expiration 2019.  Renew your boat before your expiration date of April 30th of every 3rd year to avoid a $5.00 penalty.  Renewals can be made as early as January 1st for the next renewal period.  An operator of a boat shall carry the registration certificate on board and available for inspection by an enforcement officer whenever vessel is operated.  The registration number and decals must be displayed on each side of the boat and clearly visible.

TIPS:  When purchasing a Boat (17' or longer or previously titled) - you will need to have the signed title along with the signed registration and sale amount indicated on reverse side of title.   When purchasing a Boat less than 17' - you will need to have the signed registration and sale amount indicated on reverse side of registration.
