Veterans Appreciation Dinner

Please come to the Urbana American Legion 16 February at 5:30pm to learn about Veterans benefits and stay for a delicious meal provided by the Legion!

The office will be closed 27 February 2017 - 1 March 2017, I will be returning to the office 2 March 2017.

The office will also be closed 11-13 April 2017 for training, I will return Friday 13 April 2017.


The Benton County Veterans Affairs Office hours are 8am-4:30pm.  Walk-Ins are always welcome, although it is encouraged to make an appointment to ensure that I am in the office.

Benton County Veterans Affairs assists Veterans and their dependents:

  • Obtaining VA Medical Care - Health care and medications.
  • Compensation - Monthly benefit for injury incurred or aggravated by service (No time limit).
  • Pension - Income based financial assistance programs for veterans.
  • Applying to the Iowa Veterans Home and nursing home care.
  • Military Records - obtaining and upgrading.
  • Burial Benefits and Grave Markers.
  • Educational Benefits.
  • Home Loan Benefits.
  • Maintain Grave Registrations for all persons who served in the military of the United States whose mortal remains rest in Benton County, Iowa
  • Emergency Assistance.
